The ColorUp LED table lamp, with a built-in color picker, might be the first household light you’ll want to bring everywhere – to parties, on vacation etc. etc. What a cool application of energy saving LED technology. [G]
How’s this for a slogan: Kittyo – The tech device that you and your cat don’t need. The Kittyo has met its funding goal on Kickstarter so this product, that no cat would ever be interested in, is going to be a reality.
Hooray for crowd funding and hooray for ‘kick-me-in-the-nuts’ dumbass products that shouldn’t be. [G]
It’s called the SnapRays Guidelight and it’s genius! The SnapRays Guidelight has a built-in sensor that activates the nightlight and according to its Kickstarter page, the nightlight-outlet only consumes $.10 of electricity per year. Also, the Guidelight cuts out the middleman (a separate nightlight) and it’s expected to last up to 25 years. One more bonus: the SnapRays Guidelight snap-installs in seconds and doesn’t require re-wiring. [Gizmodo]
YouTube: Amazing shark rescue
What’s awesome about this video is that these divers cared enough to rescue a grey nurse shark with a elastic cord noose around its gills. What’s amazing about this video is how the divers figured out a safe way to cut the elastic cord around the shark’s gills without harming the shark.
“Rekindle Candle is a candlestick holder, which collects the melting wax to form a new candle. As the candle burns, melting wax drips down from the candle and accumulates inside the transparent stem where a length of wick is centrally located. Once full, the new moulded candle can be removed from the central section to start the process again.”
The Rekindle Candle holder won’t give you candles that burn forever but it would be great item to put in your home emergency kit and camping box. It’s great for everyday use too because everyone will monitor the Rekindle Candle. When it goes out, you can open the plastic holder and rekindle the new candle. [Gizmodo]
