Radast Design’s LightDrive LED Lamp: A Bad-Ass Upside Down LED Lamp That My Broke-Ass Can’t Afford.

Radast Design LightDrive LED table lampRadast Design definitely challenges the norm with their upside-down LightDrive LED table lamp. From their website:

“This contemporary bulb-less design uses specially engineered optics to channel light from the high‐power LEDs in the base to the top of the lamp where it is softly diffused. Heat is carefully managed via a system of machined aircraft grade aluminum components resulting in a lamp exterior that is neutral to the touch and with no exposed hotspots.

The LightDrive LED table lamp is expected to last for 15 years and comes with a 5-year warranty. Radast Design’s LightDrive LED table lamp is now looking for funding on Kickstarter to help cover the added cost of ordering components in quantity, getting certified (UL Listing etc.), package design and to cover tooling costs.

Retailing at $799, the LightDrive LED table lamp is definitely in the “neat but hard to justify” price range. It’s not for everyone. But if it delivers as promised for those willing to spend $799, it’ll hopefully work like a gateway LED and motivate satisfied LightDrive customers to make the switch to LED lighting throughout their home.
